I priced them that way because I can be competitive: I have very little overhead and have a great deal of control over all aspects of manufacture and QC to minimize losses. Consider this: The ebay intercoolers will add around 12HP on stock turbos for a price of ~$400. That's less benefit than an NA ECU upgrade and another $150 more on top of that..... for 12HP. Now, in the same component upgrade, using a higher quality unit which will inherently cost more money, will give you a notable seat-of-pants improvement of around 25-30HP. Although you are spending about 2X the money for the latter option, you are going to get 2X the performance as well as guarantee you wont have to worry about upgrading them again down the road should you really get bit by the horsepower bug. You really are getting more for your money both now and later by going with the superior product. The ebay intercoolers are in a class of their own, which is hardly what I would call an upgrade..... perhaps, something for the NA-TT conversion crowd where they are piecing their parts together for the conversion, but definately not something to consider an "upgrade" for someone already owning a TT.
